Day 7…

The saga of interesting stories continues. I learned today that in Hawaii there is such a thing as ‘Night Marchers’. They are ghosts of ancient warriors who still patrol the island. They only walk on one path but if you cross them you must get naked, lie on the ground and tell them your Hawaiian lineage. If you are not fully Hawaiian they apparently choke you. It sounds outlandish and absurd but apparently it is no joke on the island. The girl who told the story was terrified of them and said she was happy she was on the boat and they couldn’t get her because they are sacred and not to be discussed. This all came from a poem she wrote in which she described deserted million dollar mansions which had been abandoned after only a few days due to the owners not being fully Hawaiian and coming across the Night Marchers. She also shared with the class that one of the TV programs that do specials on ghosts went to Hawaii to film and left after a few days as well. I don’t believe it but it just goes to show how interesting all the varying people on the boat are and what they have to offer. Everyday is getting a little more interesting. My first test is on Saturday already. The subject matter based on the Mediterranean seems interesting enough that it shouldn’t be too bad. I am getting my poem critiqued tomorrow in class! Hopefully it all goes well. We are losing another hour for the forth night in a row. I am really getting tired of 23-hour days and its obnoxious how many times I must write this. It should only be one more time. It is definitely different adjusting to such a time difference and odd to think that tomorrow I will be waking up only a couple hours after I would be going to bed. My goal for tomorrow: Make it to breakfast so on that note I am going to bed.
