Day 8...
Today was amazing and by far out weighs the rest. I have my first test tomorrow and even now that the day is done and we are losing another hour tonight for the last time I am hardly concerned. The day started out bleakly with little to write about except the usual class and small conversations but took a turn around 5 p.m. our time when I thought it was 6. I signed up to be in a student group called extended families and we were to meet at 6 for dinner. With all the time changing I got confused and ended up being ready an hour earlier so I straightened my hair, which was a huge mistake. We are nearing the Straight of Gibraltar and should be there by tomorrow which is creating a terribly rocky travel day at sea (or I am assuming that’s why). I had to get up during class and leave because I started to feel sick but walked it off and was fine. I met my ‘extended family’ and it consists of a husband and wife, the husband being a teacher on board and 4 other female students. Afterwards I attended class, studied for the test and then went to my first human rights group meeting. I got the honor of being in a leadership position and am in charge of planning activities aboard the ship for the group as well as I organized a group cocktail hour from 9-10 on the odd class days and I am serving on the board of awareness activities also. So far it seems like a great group and I am ecstatic to get it started. (It will also look good on my transcript but not at all why I am doing it). Spain in 3 days!! Can’t wait to get off this rocky boat!!
